March Service Immersion Trip - Mystery Trip to Denver
In March 2019, University Ministry sent forth three service immersion groups to embrace a week of service, prayer, solidarity, simplicity, social justice, and theological reflection.
The third group was our mystery service immersion trip. Students signed up for this trip not knowing where they would be going or what exactly they would be doing. On the day of departure students learned that they would be traveling to Denver, CO to work with a program called Christ in the City. This service trip was rooted in doing street outreach with those who are experiencing urban homelessness.
In all we had 26 students, staff, and faculty participate in our spring break service immersion trips.

This trip was rooted in service at Misericordia, which is a ministry with adults with developmental disabilities. This ministry is sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy. This service trip also included an inter faith theme where students had the opportunity to visit different places of worship and to have different prayer experiences.
