Detroit Mercy Softball Program

Who we are

We are the University of Detroit Mercy Softball team, consisting of talented and driven young women from a variety of different backgrounds all across the United States. We are a NCAA Division 1 team that is a part of the Horizon League. Our goal this year is to become the Horizon League Champions and extend our season towards the Women’s College World Series. These young ladies are continuously contributing to the welfare of our University by excelling on the field, in the classroom, and in the Detroit community through volunteer work. We are a team comprised of high dedication and even higher compassion that is willing to put in the work in order to impact our surrounding community. We are able to do this simply following our team motto: ‘Be the Change’. This dedication and compassion travels through our lives daily, especially with the Horizon League Championship in mind. Each and every day we challenge our boundaries during individual and team practices, weight training, and conditioning in order to best prepare ourselves for our opponents.  We are the Titans and we are looking to build a foundation in which our program can not only stand, but build on.

What we are raising money for

As our athletes work hard towards achieving our ultimate goals, we are challenged by the long and cold winters here in Detroit. The cold and snow force us to practice indoors. Although we are fortunate enough to have located indoor facilities, they come at a steep cost. The majority of our fundraising money raised during the fall semester goes towards the cost of these facilities but they are insufficient to cover the entire cost. Along with practicing indoors, we are also forced to travel to warmer areas at the start of our season. These trips have significant expenses that we must budget for (ex. transportation, hotels and meals). With this in mind, we are looking for new ways to raise money in order to allow these hard working female athletes the opportunity to play the game they love. Your tax deductible donation will be directed specifically to the Detroit Mercy Softball Fund. With your support and our hard work and dedication, we will achieve our goals: Horizon League Champs!

The University of Detroit Mercy Softball would like to thank you for considering our request. Go Titans!
